Mushy brain

I heard something the other day... something that I thought would be excellent to blog about. But wouldn't you know that my mind is turning to mush and I cannot remember what it was for the life of me.... AAAAARRRRGGGG! That's so infuriating!

On a different note, I think I have a new pet project... a research project. Stay tuned... I'm going to attempt to use my brain again. That was a warning. Please don't be alarmed if you smell or even see smoke... it's just me getting back to what I love to do the most... research.

Just can't make this up

So today, as you all know... was the Inaguration of President Elect, Barack Obama. Here I am sitting in my living room trying to teach my almost 5 going on 24 year old little girl, the historical significance of what is precipitating on NBC. Her 8.5 month old baby sister is on my lap taking note of everything she does (as per usual).

What happens next? I am almost ashamed to admit it. Here he is Barack Obama... he's on the television. Oh wait. I digress. My almost 5 year old loves the President Elect. She is the only 4.5 year old that woke up on election day excited like it was Christmas morning, excited to see the great things Santa has left her. But alas, it was not Christmas, but Election day. As you can see, I just can't make this stuff up. Anyways, she wakes up and says, "Yeah, it's time to Barack-around the clock." Granted she didn't come up with this on her own, but she held onto this little saying up until present day. She loves Mr. President Elect. But why, you say, was she so excited for Election day? Has my husbang and I done such a great job at parenting on the historical/constitutional/electoral frontier? Nope. I wish I could say that. She was excited because she truely believed that Mr. Barack Obama was going to be in the gymnasium of our polling place.

Craziness. I know. Yes, she was disappointed when she saw that he wasn't there, and asked for the next best thing, "Well, is John McCain here?" Had to burst that bubble too. Thankfully, the playground cleared up her woes.

Fast forward to today. Okay, here is Mr. President Elect on the television screen about to get sworn in. What does my little girl do? She proceeds to scream, "BARACK OBAMA..." and lifts her shirt. Yes folks. She showed the 44th president her boobies. Not just once, but EVERY SINGLE TIME the camera showed his image on the screen. Nice.

So what did you do when the 44th president was sworn in? Were you in Washington, D.C.? Some cool viewing party? Nope. I was in my living room watching my almost 5 year old act like she was in Mardi Gras trying to get some beads. Oh boy.
